Project Life Alaska
Project Life Alaska is a youth suicide prevention program working in villages within the Northwest Arctic Region of Alaska.
Their job involves going village to village promoting life to discourage suicide. Their system involves going to the villages and visiting their schools and teaching the kids their traditional Native Alaskan values (known as Iñupiat Ilitqusiat).
The employees of Project Life work with the young people creating digital stories about their life. The students will put a collage of pictures of their life and the people they know into a video with music for others to watch.
Project Life is a government funded program that won't last forever. So to continue their work once the project is over, they wanted a website that taught the same values which promote life, and mainly they wanted a way everyone in the world could have a chance to watch the Project Life videos from the native kids of the Alaskan villages.
Project Life hired us to create over 500 video pages of digital stories. Each page shows a young persons digital story, and allows anyone to leave a comment under the video.
We put a lot of work into this site, and we know the staff at Project Life put a ton of work into this project. We hope you enjoy seeing some of the digital stories created by Alaska's youth and Project Life Alaska!
Thank you for viewing this site.
Dear Awake Design Studios,
Awake Design Studios did a fantastic job building the Project Life Alaska website. This was a complicated build with over 500 videos on the site. Awake Design Studios listened to my requests and customized the site as requested. They are professional, technical experts, and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to use them again. Highest recommendations.
